After the Battle of Yavin the two remaining members of Red Squadron, Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles formed a new squadron where only the elite fighter pilots were allowed in. This squadron was known as Rogue Squadron. Rogue Squadron was the first line of defence for the Rebel Alliance, they had no set orders and were called upon when and where needed. Rogue Squadron was instrumental in the Battle of Hoth.
