The Galactic Empire was formed when a power hungry Senator named Palpatine used his Sith powers to manipulate the rest of the senate to give him the ultimate power over the Galaxy.

Once he becoame Emperor Palpatine, he used the Clone Troopers to turn on the Jedi, all but a few were destroyed. The Emperor turned Anakin Skywalker over to the Dark Side and christened him Darth Vader. From then on the Empire continued to wipe out every one that opposed them, a small group of Rebellions fought back and Star Wars was born.
